The Surfriders Ericeira is, as the name already implies, all about surfing and the pure feeling of freedom that comes with the surfsport and a life by the ocean. We open the doors and invite you to become a part of the Surfrider community while experiencing the portuguese surfing lifestyle like a local.
We are surfers by heart; grown up at the best surf spots of Portugal and know the portuguese coastline like nobody else. And because surfing means everything to us, we decided to share our passion for the waves and the ocean and found Surfriders Ericeira in 2016.
Having embarked on our own travels, we understand the significance of feeling at home even when you're far from it. We've made it our mission to ensure that you experience that sense of belonging, comfort, and genuine hospitality.

ERICEIRA - PORTUGAL
In october 2011, Ericeira was the first european surf destination to be awarded with the World Surfing Reserve title and only the 2nd Reserve to be distinguished worldwide and remains the only one in Europe until today.
The awards are a celebration of Ericeira’s beautiful beaches which include some of the best surf spots in the world. That´s why surfers from all over the world travel to Ericeira to ride our waves.
The old fisherman´s village has a lot to offer. Apart from being a relaxed surf town, Ericeira is known for it’s combination of traditional and modern portuguese charm. The beautiful scenery of blue and white architecture stretches through the entire cityscape. Its vibrant nightlife invites you to let go and dance through the night. The local and international restaurants make sure you get the best service while eating fresh and healthy delicacies.
Staying at Surfriders you will have everything the town has to offer by a few minutes walk, as well as the opportunity to escape the thundering “city life” and withdraw, recharge your batteries and just be.
Ericeira is very close to Lisbon and Sintra as well as many other spots worth visiting if you fancy a change of scenery. We are happy to advise you on how to make the most out of your vacation.

Meet the Team
Sami
Sami is a professional surfer born in Ericeira. He tries to adapt the classes to the students so that they have fun and learn the maximum. He has been teaching since he was 16 years old. He has worked as a surf coach all over the world. In addition to being certified as a surf instructor, he also has certification as a lifeguard, a stand-up paddle instructor, and as a surf coach.
Sansão
Sansão is one of the surf instructors during your stay. His background is architecture, however, he dedicated himself to surfing a few years ago. He is certified as a surf teacher and has been teaching in Ericeira since the beginning of his training.
Carolina
Carolina organizes the day-to-day of the guests. She will always be around if you need anything. She studied business management and work in the management and promotion of the camp, it is often her who prepares meals together with the chef. She was born in Lisboa but has known Ericeira since she was born, considering it a place she has lots of tips to give.
Constança
Constança - surf coach as well . She dedicated to surfing a few years ago. She is certified as a surf teacher and has been teaching in Ericeira from a few years already.
Mafalda
Mafalda is a yoga teacher. Mafalda is always available for the guests, Mafalda make two sessions per day at the camp. One morning session and one sundown session in our amazing sea view terrace.
Alan
Alan its one of our surf instructor, as all our surf teacher its he is a certificate coach. Born in Brazil and make part of our team already for 3 years . He know really well Ericeira and the waves here. Normally you will find Alan in our Beginners Lessons.
Miguel
Miguel i surfer born in Ericeira. You will find Miguel in our Beginners and Intermediate sessions. He is certified as a surf teacher and has been teaching in Ericeira since the beginning of his training. In addition to being certified as a surf instructor, he also has certification, a stand-up paddle instructor.
Jorge
Jorge is one of the surf instructors during your stay. His background is bak office, however, he dedicated himself to surfing a few years ago. He is certified as a surf teacher and has been teaching in Ericeira since the beginning of his training.
Lis
Lis is a yoga teacher with a lot of experience in retreats and yoga for surfers. For her, yoga is a way to get closer to her real self and to enable the flow of energy. The first step is to enjoy the body postures, a conscious breathing (pranayama), and concentration (dharana).
Renan
Renan is one of the surf instructors find him at the beginner surf lessons.
As well at the standup paddle lesson.
He make also training sessions at the camp.
Kika
Kika organizes all the bookings and reservations. She studied marketing, brand development and business management. At the camp she make retreats and workshops for business development. She is a problem solver person and have a level 2 in Reiki.
Khloe
Khloe , the last but not the least our surfer dog. Khloe is a boxer always in good mood. She normally pass by the camp to make the check in to our guests.
She already surf since she came to s with 2 months old.
