ERICEIRA - PORTUGAL
Ericeira is Europe’s only World Surfing Reserve, awarded in 2011 for its world-class surf spots and stunning coastline. Known for its consistent waves, it attracts surfers from all over the world.
This charming fishing village combines traditional Portuguese culture, blue-and-white architecture, vibrant nightlife, and excellent local cuisine. It’s the perfect mix of surf, relaxation, and authentic coastal life.

The Surf Riders Shop is located in the heart of Ericeira at Rua do Carmo, nº 33A, and is open all year.
This is also the meeting point for all surf lessons.
Our Surf Camp private villas are located nearby at Rua do Miramar, nº 22, offering comfort and relaxation just minutes from the waves.

Meet the Team
Sami
Sami is a professional surfer born and raised in Ericeira.
He has been teaching surf since the age of 16 and has worked as a surf coach around the world. You can find Sami teaching all levels, especially intermediate and advanced surfers, always adapting each lesson to help students progress while having fun.
He is a certified surf instructor, lifeguard, and stand-up paddle instructor, bringing strong technical knowledge, experience, and passion for the ocean to every session.
Catarina
Catarina is a certified surf instructor and a key member of our team since 2018.
You can find Catarina teaching beginner and intermediate surf lessons, always with a positive attitude and a passion for helping students progress while having fun. Also has experience in snow sports, which gives her a strong technical background and a great understanding of board sports in general. Her lessons are adapted to each student’s level, ensuring a safe, motivating, and enjoyable learning experience.
Miguel
Miguel is a surfer born and raised in Ericeira and a member of the Surfriders team since 2018.
You’ll find Miguel teaching beginner and intermediate surf lessons, always focused on creating a safe, fun, and supportive learning environment.
He is a certified surf instructor and stand-up paddle instructor, and has also completed training in adaptive surfing, allowing him to work with students of different abilities. With strong local knowledge and a true passion for teaching,
Constança
Constança is a dedicated surf coach and a passionate member of our team.
She fully committed herself to surfing a few years ago and has been teaching in Ericeira ever since. You can find Constança teaching all levels, always adapting her lessons to each student to ensure they feel confident, safe, and enjoy the experience in the water.
Constança is a certified surf instructor and brings enthusiasm, patience, and a love for the ocean to every session.
Mafalda
Mafalda is a yoga teacher at our surf school and camp, and a graduate in Sports Science.
She is passionate about helping guests connect with their body and mind, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all levels. Mafalda’s sessions focus on well-being, relaxation, and mindfulness, allowing students to recharge, improve flexibility, and feel balanced during their stay.
Mafalda brings energy, mindfulness, and a love for guiding every guest toward balance and well-being.
Alan
Alan is one of our certified surf instructors and has been part of our team since 2021.
Born in Brazil, he knows Ericeira and its waves extremely well. You’ll usually find Alan teaching beginner surf lessons, where he combines patience, encouragement, and a fun approach to help students feel confident and enjoy their time in the water.
He is passionate about sharing his love for surfing and helping every student progress and connect with the ocean.
Renan
Renan is one of our surf instructors and can usually be found teaching beginner surf lessons.
He is also skilled in stand-up paddle lessons and leads training sessions at the camp. Renan brings enthusiasm, patience, and a supportive approach to every class, helping students build confidence, improve their skills, and enjoy their time on the water.
Jorge
Jorge is one of our surf instructors during your stay.
Although he comes from a back-office background, he fully dedicated himself to surfing a few years ago. Jorge is a certified surf instructor and has been teaching in Ericeira since the beginning of his training. He brings patience, enthusiasm, and a supportive approach to every lesson, helping students gain confidence, improve their skills, and enjoy their time in the water.
Lis
Lis is an experienced yoga teacher, specializing in retreats.
For her, yoga is a way to connect with her true self and to enable the flow of energy. She focuses on body postures, conscious breathing (pranayama), and concentration (dharana), creating a deep and mindful experience for participants. Lis brings calm, expertise, and inspiration to every retreat, helping guests reconnect with their body and mind.
Kika
Kika manages all bookings and reservations at our surf school and camp.
She studied Marketing, Brand Development, and Business Management, and also organizes retreats and workshops focused on business development. Kika is a natural problem-solver and brings calm, organization, and positive energy to everything she does. She is also certified in Reiki Level 2.
Khloe
Khloe is our beloved surfer dog and part of the team!
She is a cheerful Boxer who loves to greet guests at the camp during check-in. Khloe has been riding the waves since she was just 2 months old, spreading joy, fun, and good vibes to everyone around her.
